Well I think the postwriter does mean 'most' - who's the MOST rock as in encapsulating the rock ethos - who's chucked the most tellys out of hotel windows, most staggering levels of substance abuse etc. So it's Zep for the former and Aerosmiths Toxic Twins for the latter..

I think the best rock bands ever are probably Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, ACDC, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Rush, ZZ Top. Led Zep are a bit over rated they have some good songs but thats about it. I'd vote Black Sabbath as one of the best but they are more of a Heavy Metal band.

For pure rock attitude like 'gurion' was saying Trashing hotel rooms, excessive chemical abuse etc etc Cant go much past Motley Crew, Princes of debauchery

Even their manager, the huge and terrifying Peter Grant was ROCK -he didn't like his lads being ripped off, and on one notable occasion went to have 'a word' with the promoter who was holding back a grand from the gig. The promoter pulled a gun on him, and Grant said 'What, you'd shoot me for a thousand dollars? Don't be so fking cheap!'.

I agree with Motley Crue, those guys lived the Rockstar life. Nikki Six x x had an overdose, died, they revived him and that same day he was let go he overdosed again haha what a legend

You should read Zappas autobiography - contrary to popular belief, Zappa never touched drugs, he was kinda already THERE, but the rest of the band and the road crew.. for instance the Plastercasters would arrive post-gig and the one sister (I forget her name, may be Emily) would give the band member a bl... well let's say she would make the musical gentleman VERY HAPPY..

Then the other sister, Cynthia, prior to NATURAL SHRINKAGE occurring, would slap on the damp gooey clay and the musical gentlemans weiner would be immortalized in rocks most upstanding Hall of Fame..

I agree, Led Zep was a great band but overrated. Many of their songs were stolen from blues composers and the 2/3 of their compositions were mediocre. Led Zep took their huge fame from 5-6 songs, try to listen their whole discography and count the mediocre songs: they are the majority.

x 1,000 one assumes you're on a wind-up? But you can't deny their sheer hedonism credentials surely.. yeah, Keith Moon, the Rolls and the swimming pool sure, but for CONSISTENT bad rock behaviour Zep or Crue are hard to beat.
