Well, I narrowed my search to the Audio Technica ath-ad700 and the Sony mdr-v6... And bought the Sonys, they were half the cost of the others and, although the soundstage isn't as vast as the Audio Technicas, they have superior bass (not hard because apparently that's a huge weakness on the other set.) I'm very happy with these, they sound great straight out the box, so should be awesome in 200 hours or so.

It's a sad day, my Koss Portapros are relegated to the role of substitute

Best headphones i had came from sainsburys they were great till my mate sat on my bag with them in lol oh they were the full ear ones :)

Best earphones I had have to be my skullcandy lowriders been everywhere with me done all sorts and even been borrowed to dj they been sorely abused but keep on going and sound awesome

My sens HD450 are still going well after 20yrs ! ,i replaced the foam earpads , also just got a pair of HD595's very comfy n great sound, plus i like my grado SR80's

When you buy headphones you get what you pay for . But Koss has the best cheap over the ear headphones . Good luck

Yes and No Kev, I got my seinheissers in a clearence sale its all about when you buy sometimes! lol they a bit like a mic in someways headphones all to do with personal tastes and sounds, must reckon people hear things a little differently as well

i had a couple of pairs of skullcandy phones, they were treated well but still both broke in the same way in like 6 months. I really liked the sound quality, but they're a complete waste of money.

My MDR-V6 headphones lasted only four months. sound quality was exceptional, great for online games, I knew exactly where every player was coming from... Gone for Sennheiser HD555s this time.

Overpriced cr*p according to 'audiophile' websites.
