What do you think of Erik Satie, the French composer and pianist? What pieces of his do you like? |

Absolutely love his work and his Gymnopedies in particular (should be an accent over the fist 'e' but they don't show in the forums). Guaranteed to relax me even when I'm fuming, but his music always has an undercurrent of quiet danger, hence it's extensive use in Beneix's 'Diva' (great film btw)

Well worth having a sip of something to supplement Satie; as seen by my post in 'What u listenin' 2?' - QUOTE: 'Erik Satie: 'Deuxieme Gymnopedie' - accompanied by a rather splendid Chateauneuf du Pape Excellence - in case that sounds terribly posh and everything, it's only 'cos it was half- price at Morrisons but there's a delightful taste/audio synergy at work here...' UNQUOTE :)
