Very recently a number of rich left wing celebrities have been voicing their opinions on a range of issues from brexit to immigration and economic policies. I'm for freedom of speech but everytime they spout their views towards us working class they have not got a clue what they are saying and they make themselves look foolish. Should we ignore them and let them make fools of themselves or should they just stick to what they are talented at? What do you guys think? |

is animal rights considered a 'left wing' sort of thing? by the way.i have always felt people should speak up about things when they have an audience.i grew up in the 80s when there was a lot of that kind of thing

You'll never stop people having opinions, so just decide who you want to listen to. ![]() |

Voicing is fine but when they try to influence things in a political way that's when they need nipple twisting

I like some of Casey Neistat's vids but that Hillary vid was ridiculous, his points were dull and he looked like a twat.

@ bozzalad - 22.10.16 - 10:20am emma watson Her views on feminism is slanted to say the least. Can't understand why they had her as a figurehead and gave her a role that is too big and complex for her experience /age |

The fact that they are celebrities doesn't make their opinion and more or less valid than anybody else. That said, if you are in a position where you have a public voice, trying to use it for the benefit of other is the socially responsible thing to do. I still reserve the right to completely ignore them and cry preaching.

And right wing celebrities run for President. What if working class left wing people agree with the rich left wing people and what if conservative working class people agree with them as well? Could it just be that some people have an opinion you don't agree with but only find especially offensive because they're rich and you're not?

They've got themselves in a position where they can influence more people, so their views can, and probably do, have more effective weight even if they're legally and morally even. Thing is though, is their position entirely their choice, and are celebrities then a natural and fairly reflective balance of society..? Hell no they're not! Take the BBC, hiring anyone as long as they're left wing.. When corporations are choosing people to play as heroes to the masses, then those heroes are then selected public manipulation. |

Yeah, Lilly Allen and Gary Lineker have had such a strong influence on my life. I just love those things that they did to make them famous.

Could it just be that some people have an opinion you don't agree with but only find especially offensive because they're rich and you're not? Think it's more offensive for those celebs to judge the normal people for having a different opinion...esp when they say they are ashamed to be British because we chose brexit or question an age |
