I've never run a marathon before but I do plan on taking part of some in the future.

not on my to do list at all.

The short ones are not that bad.

I ran a couple of steps earlier when I stood on a snakey looking twig.

The classic saying 'I feel like I've ran a marathon' thats as far as it gets.'

I only run if I want to get somewhere fast or get away from someone quickly, wouldn't want to put my body through that just for fun.

They're not good for you, imo. Stick to half marathons, especially cross-country. Or more commonly now, 20km runs or 15km 'challenge' runs (assault courses).

I've avoided MK's marathon in may, having smashed myself up a few months ago, but i'm doing a half marathon in September for the NSPCC and will get more in before then.

We did a charity walk at school (christian brothers college) the older boys were running it (20 k).We had a girl come to talk to us who had lived near Chernobyl, the next year after that it went to supplying deaf people with special phones.
