Anybody pay it? Or involved in it recently? The Child Support Agency is closing down, and parents are finding alternative methods. I've been paying it for four years now, and so far it's been all good. As i'm friends with the ex, we agreed to just carry on between ourselves, but a new service 'Child Maintenance Service' have sent me a letter saying they're acting as a replacement. ![]() They've calculated a new payment of almost ![]() ![]() As i have the brat here like forty percent of the time, i think this is a little excessive. So i wondered if anyone else here has had experience with these people yet? |

I don't want it, he does his share. If you have her 40 percent of the time, here that would mean you would pay less than say someone who only has their child every second weekend or whatever, which is fairly common. |

I can't help thinking if i had her sixty percent of the time i wouldn't get three ton a month. I've just had a chat with them and i'm feeling a little better, since they now have a little more information to go on. I gotta say they do seem okay, and all should be well. I'll see what the ex thinks in a few days. |

It's a shame so many seem to have bad experiences with this.

Do you have the option of continuing the agreement between yourselves though? I think that's still an option here. It's just a private agreement, and you'd pay directly to her, instead of them as a go between.

Well yeah, I guess that depends on your relationship though, wouldn't work for everyone.

@ bozzalad - 21.08.17 - 05:37pm that seems mostly to depend if the main parent gets benefits as in the more that the absent parent pays the less the state has to pay |

@ bozzalad - 21.08.17 - 05:39pm as in the more that the absent parent pays the less the state has to pay So a parent on benefits would prefer a private agreement so they don't lose out you mean? You can agree to agree on the amount specified by them or come to your own arrangements perhaps. |
