All my old ones have degraded and turned to ash/dust. But in my head, the oldest ones I remember were the vertical stripe Tesco ones, looked like Tesco value carrier bags. That was probably like 2016 tbf.

Yes lots do degrade into the environment is that good or bad???, . other year when doing a job @ 1 my nephews we dug up few those 'C and A' bags some c*nts had used amongst other crap like dolls and jars etc as a way to save corncrete and they were probably in same condition as when buried deep under the patio , must have been made of 1000yr plastic . |

They degrade with UV light. Bottles that sit on window shelves (shower gel, dishwash liquid etc) and all outdoor plastics from signage to car light lenses etc have to contain UV protection like sunglasses, to stop them cracking up too quickly. But it still degrades them eventually. Bury plastic though, and it's protected from light - so it lasts, and lasts... |
