Ok so iv been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century by the addition of a coffee machine to our household. I have resisted this far because of the running costs of the machine IE Pods. Mrs T has been on at me for a few years to get one. Anyway i relented and we bought a posh looking machine the other day only after i had been assured that we could get resuable coffee pods. Not so in our new wonder machine  nesspresso vertuo plus, about the only fkn machine where you cant buy reusable pods  the pods that fit the machine are a weird shape and have a barcode on the under side which the machine reads and makes the perfect cup of coffee for that particular brew. I searched all over the internet and found a kit in america that allows you to reuse the pods by refilling and re foiling the pods, starter kit was 20 dollars and 10 dollars for 100 foil lids, so hopefully we can save a few quid. Do you have a coffee machine and do you buy the pods prefilled ? or use reusable pods ? |

The last time I went shopping I noticed that Lidl sell their own generic brand coffee pods now, i'm 99'/. sure the blurb on the packet said that they would fit in 'most' Nespresso coffee machines.  About half the price of the official branded ones.

I have an electric coffee pot....  It's ace.... You put the coffee in this stainless steel sieve thing on a pole....chuck the lid on....switch it on.... and hey presto....kin ace coffee.... super best invention.... |

if you buy coffee from coffee shops they make financial sense. the Dulce Gusto ones are 4.50 ish for a box of 16 pods, though some varieties take two pods per drink.

I can't bring myself to waste four or five quid on a cuppa... wasted an eye watering amount on f*gs over the year's as it is. ..plus i drink green tea

I've spoken to a couple of staff from some of these trendy coffee joints over the years. They told me when they go to clear tables, a lot of cups folk have left behind are virtually full. Customers come in, buy an overrated, overpriced coffee, sit for 10 minutes, take a pic for their social media, then leave. Sad sign of the times... |
