Doctors vote to stop charging overseas patients for their treatment at NHS hospitals... so so wrong considering a hospital turned away an elderly lady (93 I think) who had broken her arm in 2 places saying she was too old for treatment, why should us tax payers pay for everyone elses treatment when they have paid nothing into it. Its not right |

Why shouldn't the UK's 30 million taxpayers pay for 7 billion people? What could possibly go wrong? The sums add up great. Each one of us pays for the treatment of just 233 people. That's like me paying for myself and 232 mate's to go privately. The NHS only spends 4 billion pounds a year, how much more would 233 times the patients cost? I'd only have to do about 550 days overtime a year to cover that. And think of how warm and cosy I'd feel. Being one of the unemployed who support the idea. |

Britain is very bad at collecting NHS money we are owed by people who have to pay. Very very bad. It's scandalous in fact

Maybe they got the idea from Bernie Sanders who wants to provide free healthcare to illegal aliens.

Read the story, the Doctors did not turn the lady away it was the receptionist who did it and made the stupid comment about her age. The hospital itself did not have an a+e so could not carry out the treatment required. The lady went to another hospital with relevant facilities and got treated

@ kimjongl - 26.06.19 - 12:48pm Tell me what law says an illegal alien has a right to free healthcare. The human rights act of 1998 which is law in the UK. A sharp guess? Letting a human being be ineligible to use NHS and allowing that person to die because of their immigration status violates article 3 in conjunction with article 14, and the right to life. |

@ 9362 - 26.06.19 - 12:55pm The receptionist clearly fked up with her comments and was wrong they apologised for not treating her and said they had no policy against treating over 65's, which to be quite honest i do not believe for one second |
