Apparently it's the 247th mass shooting in the USA this year.

I just read that more children have been killed by guns since Sandy Hook than US soldiers in combat since 9,11.

Kind of pathetic really that a nation in this day and age basis their rights on a document written in 1787..

Shooter reportedly targeted Mexicans and left a white nationalist 'manifesto' on his social media.

Fox news immediately claimed(without evidence) that the shooter had ISIS connections and then tried to blame violent video games.

I doubt that's true, same with the false 18 school shootings in a week that was once pushed. It included things like someone committing suicide in a school parking lot. It would be interesting to see exactly what incidents they are including in that figure.

So what would you do to get the shootings stopped?

I often wonder what people who criticize the 2A or gun culture in the US think the solution is. Ban guns? Gun free zones? There are already examples of areas that have low firearm ownership and gun free zones in the US and they tend to be the areas riddled with the most crime and gun deaths.

It's almost as if a law written on paper doesn't magically stop an insane person doing what they were going to do anyway.

Increase legal gun ownership, training and end gun free zones. Also increase mental health awareness, education and related programs. This is a mental health issue not a gun issue.

It's the same thing with knife crime in the UK. If anyone thinks it's a knife issue and knee jerks into banning knifes they're a different grade of simpleton.

According to USA Today the El Paso mass murder was the 250th mass shooting in 215 days. Another source said the same thing and it specified the figure killed does not include the perpetrator. Slightly different figures from yet other sources.

There's breaking news right now of another 'active shooter' situation unfolding in Dayton, Ohio. Unconfirmed reports of 7 casualties.

I think it's kicking off in Ohio too
