It's good news. Nobody should assault a child. Not even parents.

I've never agreed with teaching kids that violence gets shit done. I don't like the idea of taking parenting away from parents, so kids can rebel, knowing they can't be touched. It's not easy to satisfy both ideals, and ultimately, this law is in danger of helping cause more bad behaviour from brats who control their parents, whilst doing nothing to protect vulnerable kids being abused. |

if you learn to talk to your kids from an early age I don't see why you couldn't explain yourself or an issue to your child and never need to smack them.

@ slwnoris - 4.10.19 - 05:14pm Ive not had a lot to do with children, but I will say there's more good ones out there, than bad ones. But the bad ones get all the good ones a bad name. As for slapping a child, it's a matter of not doing it to hard, a slap on the bottom shouldn't do a child any harm, but beating is something that out of order, we had the Caine at my secondary school in never got on the wrong end of trouble to get it. There was a teacher in my junior school she use to slap us around the head, don't think they would get away with that now. She was evil. don't take the michael |

You've previously said you're younger than me, if only by a year or two. The cane was banned by the time I reached secondary school. You've been skipping your meds again, haven't you noris? |

@ 3mel - 4.10.19 - 05:24pm if you learn to talk to your kids from an early age I don't see why you couldn't explain yourself or an issue to your child and never need to smack them. Works for us. She was very ill when she was born, tube fed and breathing tubes for the first year.. She had to work with us from the start, and we had to be patient with her, so maybe that helped.. I dunno. Or maybe we just aren't shit parents, despite our own troubles.. We had problems with her in her old school, more the issue was her relationship with the school, she closed up on us all. Since sorting those issues out with her, with help from child services, all's well. They're people, you've gotta work with them. |
