Brits in lockdown are being asked to stand on their doorsteps, balconies, or windows at 8pm this evening, to show support and appreciation for all our brave NHS workers battling on the frontlines of the fight against Covid-19 by giving them a nationwide round of applause. ![]() |

@ tazdevil - 26.03.20 - 01:00pm We did that last Sunday. Made my eyes water ![]() Oh btw, while many complied by not being out and about - there were some who openly defied the advice to stay at home, and crowded on the streets making us the laughing stock of the world. Several videos emerged on the internet, check them out ![]() |

Not just the nhs, police, security, armed forces, shop workers etc every nurse and doctor knows what they may have to face one day, just the same as many others, so give thanks yes, but no need to blow sunshine up their butts, thats not what they expect.

I'm sure you would be blowing plenty of sunshine up their butts, if they were fighting day and night to keep a loved one of yours alive...

No not at all, i would thank them of course, but they need the tools to do the job they chose to to, a 100.000 thankyous wont help them do the job any better, im not being harsh, just practicl, in this situation you cant get all gushy about it.

I agree RE: the support. However, everyone opening doors and windows, and slapping germs into the air, is a fkn stupid idea. This will come from the same viral-post generators as those telling people to put a real lit candle next to their curtains at times of tragedy - like we need more people dead... Yeah, I won't be doing it. But then, I'm still working. To keep my customers afloat. And they're vital atm. So I feel I'm helping. Not that you need to work to help - just fkn stay indoors and don't touch nobody from outside or let them in, and you're helping just fine. |

I messaged a nurse I know on FB to tell her when all this is over I will take her to the pub and get her pissed and she won't have to spend any money, all nurses need to be shown respect and be thanked for their efforts.

@ kipling - 26.03.20 - 03:24pm They're brave , they shouldn't be doing what they're doing skimping on ppe all the same .. I think they have stood firm and refused to give help till adequately supplied with safety wear It's called putting other people before yourself. Needs must. Doing the best you can with what you have to hand. Standing in harm's way to protect the masses. Things that many of the aforementioned professions go through on a daily basis, not just now. |

That just sounds like you're planning to date rape her ![]() |

Yeah, whilst I fully agree with the intent/spirit of it, it would be an entirely pointless endeavour on my part as i'm miles from anywhere and neither they nor anybody else bar the wildlife and a few cattle would be able to hear me if I did. |

@ kipling - 26.03.20 - 05:01pm Oh so a nurse dies because of the NHS lacking in looking after staffs welfare , it's all good ![]() Come back when you've sobered up and there's a very small chance of you being able to make at least some sense. But, seeing as you're obviously going to stick around and bleat endlessly... you bet I'd do exactly the same as what? |
