Many folk remember where they were when Kennedy was assassinated..what about Lennon or Jim Morrison?
Any famous persons demise angered or upset you?

I can remember my gran telling me John Lennon had been killed. I was aware of the Beatles but I couldn't really name them all. I was 12.
Later on I realized what a tragic loss this was to the world of music.
Same goes for the death of Hendrix aged 27.
A monumental loss to the music world.

Any actors,painters,sports folk that passed away affected you? I guess I'm asking about someone who's work you admired.

I was saddened when Lisa Marie Presley died, dont shoot me for saying this ha! It's not that I admired her much, its after it was announced that her death was caused by some operation she had done to lose weight, I thought jeez she was beautiful the way she was, she didn't need to lose weight, so sad she saw herself differently

Talking of Lisa, I thought my Mam was never gonnae stop crying when Elvis died, my Dad took us to my Granny's (his Mum) I over heard him saying to my Granny in the kitchen... I swear Mither shes no stopped greeting for weeks ud think she was married to him no me

I remember the hullabaloo around Lennon passing, it meant little to me at that age but as I've grown I've heard more about him that I don't like.

if it's a really decent person even with flaws I find myself giving more of crap. some folks are a minor loss to the world when they go. usually that's for who they are not for what they produced.

There's a lot about Lennon i didn't like,he was a homophobe, and a woman beater. However i'm really talking about his music,how we probably lost so much more good music.
Bob Marley was another one,not a nice guy in some ways,a monster in others. However,he wrote some good songs. I guess his passing affected many folk.

I'm a fan of songs and not necessarily the people that made them. an a-hole can make a banging tune I like but they'll still be an a-hole for me.

Same when allegations were made against Michael Jackson, some hit the roof, some defended him yada yada yada, his music wasnt to bad tho

When Jonny cash died, I mourned like I had lost a close relative. It took me a few months to get over his death

Didnt his wife June Carter Cash die a few months before him due to complications after a heart op? He was still grieving n died about 4 months later, can u die of heartache?

My grandad did, my Nana died and he was heartbroken he lasted less than a year after her there was nothing physically wrong with him, he just didn't want to live without her

Aw that's so sad, same with my Papa, they were a devoted couple, after my Nana passed away, he was lost without her, stopped eating n drinking, we had to do a 24/7 check on him n get a home help, but he was living on biscuits n tea, it was heart breaking watching him, we were surprised that he lived for over a year without her, they were the salt of the Earth
