The cross?..I'm just guessing it has been appropriated.

I don't have a favourite. Haven't most of them been appropriated in one way or another? The aforementioned cross is one, also christmas and halloween to name a couple of the better known examples.

@ ogdenz - 23.05.14 - 10:11am The belief in resurrection? The cross is representative of the sun, Christians took it from the zodiac, look in the middle of the zodiac and you'll see a cross. Zodiac not to be confused with fortune telling garbage. |

The cross comes from a whole host of different sources. I would say Frey on the Rood was of way more significance

the cross comes from so many sources that it should be seen as a standard shape, surely.is someone going to claim a monopoly on circles n squares next? Days of the week, can we share them please? As it's a bit awkward trying to ignore them.. Has anyone said oxygen yet? Pagans did it first

@ propidol - 23.05.14 - 12:33pm The cross comes from a whole host of different sources. I would say Frey on the Rood was of way more significance The zodiac got it from the sun set or raise, as the sun is on the horizon, light trails horizontal and vertical in a glaring cross. The zodiac influences Christianity hugely. The sun falling and raising after 3 days, the ram the lamb. The light the way. The fact the ''god'' was one of 12 go back to before the Jews, to a polytheistic religion. |
