With a vengeance. I got my new CPU yesterday. 3GHz Athlon 2 Dualcore. 45nm, 2MB L2. With it I bought a CoolerMaster HyperTX3. Stock performance is stellar compared to my previous chip (which maxed out at 2.8GHz and 58'C but still running in another PC). This baby is a gem. Somehow I get quite overclockable CPUs every time. This one being no different. |

The maximum stable clock I have reached so far (at 1.45V, 1.35V being stock) is 3.8GHz. CPUz verification here - http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=781513

My personal SuperPi record is currently standing at 21.653s - Checksum 9F16C86C - Compare that to the just over 30s I got with the previous CPU maxed out. And keep in mind also that I am still using my old AM2 motherboard. Which I have been using for 3 years now.

Also note that all scores are as taken with the Windows 7 RC2 Beta. On XP the scores would obviously be slightly improved.

With my previous CPU maxed at 2.81GHz I got 2142 in the CPU test. http://tinypic.com/r/2qm0z84/4 is my current CPU at stock with a score of 2284 on the CPU.

Note to those who cannot check the pics: The test ran was 3DMark06. And here is my current CPUscore record, at 3008 points - http://tinypic.com/r/2ik4jv9/4

Idle temp at 20'C ambient is 22'C and max load I have been able to achieve through archiving 800MB worth of jpeg files at best winrar compression was 37'C (that was with an ambient of 26'C). I will post back with a complete set of figures when I ran Orthos for a few hours.

I don't see any relevance catiback. This was a tech forum last I saw. Seems characters like you drove away even the hardened critics like spartan and mack.

And looking at your user number you haven't been on the forum that long so I'll overlook your ignorance for now.

@jay.mack | 22 October 09 |
and have you figured out how to keep yer bandwidth with a clean overclock? ie ht 1000/2000 coz its all well and good getting massive cpu speeds but if your hammering your mem bandwidth its a wste of time.

and 6000+ 3dmarks? thats poor by any standard... you do know the average rig today needs 10,000 so get a relivant frikin rig... ie as yer an amd fanboy get a phenom ii and get 3.6 out of it if you can... anything less is pretty irellivant but i guess its ok for 3 years ago. ![]() |

the sad thing about it is that with my new kit all i cota do is bump the cpu clock 10-16 points and i get to 3.6 without even touching the core volts or upping any other volts for that matter and because its not ht link it dosent affect the memory bandwidth infact it helps it and the superpi will be about 12 seconds. fk me thats just embarrising. oh and the cost well dont even bother coz you got

that 4600 must realy by a sucky gfx card 2 coz yer clocking the s**t out of it and your 3d mark is no better than when i had my 4600+ 6600le.
