the laptop was built for vista so obviously, yeah... the older desktop was built for XP.  couple of linux distros crammed in both as well, all dandy.

i prefer windows xp litestep edition :) :) who sais 7 looks and works better than xp?go take xp and replace the shell than studdy the theme.rc format a bit and example you can have an animated screensaver as windows background,transparent taskbar,windows and..anything you want without paying for windows7.i ve tried windows 7 and it is a nice os but not that advanced and free like windows xp

by the way vista... no comment or in short everything wrong that can occure usually occurs lol xp is the best operating system avalible.i might use some of the ubuntu distributions if they arent so internet dependent and limited in user interface.if you re a developer,programmer or someone who doesnt use a pc only for games.video and audio entertainment,you might want to stick with xp

vista aint that bad as the first versions. Same as with xp and 7 any os will have a stop start on a pc before the developers h*ts its sweet spot. As with xp its the lastest vista versions thats at that stage. Vista is bloated yes but u can remove some of it with vlite. But as it is if u do ur file placement rite with vista its faster than xp
