try to get into bios by hitting delete when first turn on, and then load failsafe bios settings and try that.

are there any access panels underneath it to get at the ram sticks etc, if so remove them and check if everything is connected securely, any knocks or bumps can loosen components, causing hardware errors

Whats unmountable boot volume?
|
||
![]() |
@the.rain | 12 April 11 |
its a drive thats set to boot from normally the one that contains the opperating system (windows), when it says its unmountable it meens it cant read the drive.. sounds like the hard drive is either damaged or has come loose from the motherboard.

if its only loose you can do it yourself but it meens taking the netbook appart to get at the drive to connect back up, laptops have panels you get at the parts,

na.. normaly there secured. normaly pc and laptop components are all clipped in place its rare to break a wire, anything major is conected via a ribbon. it your going to try it, do it slowly, carfully lift the back off, look for anything in the way as you do so, if you can see the hard drive normally a silver box about 3 inch by 5 inch (guess cant remember at mo) if you cant see it stop there

if you can see it carry on, once you have access to it check to see if its conected properly, normally just pushes into its conector on the motherboard ( the big circuit board). when done put back together and see if it now works, if not it might need replacing,

A system restore came up so I did that and at end it said unable 2 create directory
|

@the.rain | 12 April 11 |
try again, windows stores several restore points the one its tryed to do maybe the faulty one to begin with, see if it allows you another restore point, if so select the earlisest, ok you may loose some of your data, but restoring it to its earliest point gives more chance of the fault not being there
