im looking to record live steams of video. no audio needed. whats the best pacage to convert them from flv to avi... i want something that can configured to give the output i require.not just same in same out with a different file extention. |

You will need to find an app with advanced options then, to convert individual streams. I have looked in the past for the best video converter. In the end I did find something good, although fairly complicated, but I can't remember what it was called. I googled trying to find out what the 'scene' and p2p groups use for ripping, and that's how I found the software.

Also check out Freemake Video Converter heared its pretty good to say its free and Format Factory is a good free one, but Xilisoft dose all i need n faster than any other i have used

i have what i need.. i downloaded a fair few suggestions and tried em all. imtoo video converter turned out to be the best i found. which is almost identical to xillisofts own.

its faster in that it supports cuda and ati stream although im yet to figure out how to use it.

im having trouble with the setup. for some reason its saying i need to update to the latest ati drivers and have the latest avivo which i have both... but it still wont let me gpu encode. gonna try cyberlink

Make sure ya Gpu supports Ati Stream i didn't think my HD6970 did as it don't say on the box yet with the 11.10 preview drivers i can enable gpu acceleration in exilisoft

try Any Video Converter. works well for me and doesn't give issues with missing codecs and such.
