File-sharing site The Pirate Bay must be blocked by UK internet service providers, the High Court has ruled. The Swedish website hosts links to download mostly pirated free music and video. Sky, Everything Every where, TalkTalk, O2 and Virgin Media must all prevent their users from accessing the site. You online activists were so paranoid about bills in the U.S. Congress that you totally ignored what was happening in your courts. ![]() |

I did not copy and paste the whole BBC News article, just the first paragraph. I think every ISP in the UK is affected by this court decision. Methinks the free downloads on the Twilight Wap site will be cut off soon. Btw, the ISP's are being forced to be the internet police, I don't think a proxy will fool them. ![]() |

I looked again, and yes it is only five ISPs affected. But as the old saying goes, 'If you give them an inch, they will take a yard'. So do you think your government will settle for five internet service providers? I remember when your government said the surveillance camera program would be restricted only to crime hotspots on a temporary basis only, and now you cannot get on a bus without somebody seeing if you have dandruff or not. ![]() |

Yep, I'm sure that there might be some inovations in the satellite isp market if that happened. After all, you cannot really enforce a law like that if they have no equipment in the country. ![]() |

its gone to s**t. if your using 1 of the mentioned network you should email em on mass and tell em censorship is wrong. yes go after the pirates not the downloaders but the original uploaders. and stop censoring us which is against out human rights which the uk signed up to... please email your mp and isp and tell them to fight the ruling on your behalf or you will have no option but to vote for some1 else and switch provider.

I imagine there will be plenty of delays on ISP's implementing the rules for policing their own customers. But I also imagine somebody in the government is thinking that George Orwell's 1984 world was not strict enough.
