Okay, lets get one thing straight. Hooking a mobile phone to a pc so the pc can have internet access is called Tethering. Many mobile providers are disabling that ability so you will have to buy a USB 3G dongle. Your phone probably downloaded an update disabling the tethering ability, so now you'll have to settle for a dongle too. ![]() |

If its is as @mok214 suggests it should still connect but throttle you straight down, I doubt its that , you probberly neet to uninstall them dialup modem and reinstall them connection suite originnally installed, I only use nokia phones myself and doing just such fixed similar problems I had in past using winXP roblem hasnt re occured since using win7 and nokia suite,, anyhows youd beter better off with a usb dongle it saves barreling your phones battery ![]() |

using mobiles for tethering with a laptop went out with the dark ages, getting the two talk to each other is allways more problematic than a dongle and often throws a wobbly at some point in the future even when you manage to get it working.

tethering via usb went out with the dark ages anyway. Come out of the 90s and buy a dongle they are cheap enough!

@ cherwell - 6.06.12 - 02:01am using mobiles for tethering with a laptop went out with the dark ages, getting the two talk to each other is allways more problematic than a dongle and often throws a wobbly at some point in the future even when you manage to get it working. I disagree in fact since the speed has increased and prices for data has come down its more popular than ever, I have over 5gb of data allowance on my phone each month the phone easily connects to a laptop or tablet through the personal hotspot via wifi, why but a dongle? |

I agree never had a prob with using usb connection with my nokia and pc suite. Unlimited data and connection never drops. Although it is only used for browsing really, very satisfied with it. :)
