it amazes me that on a spectrum48k you could wait 30 mins to get a game loaded and now 1mb per second is considered slow.

I had a zx spectrum with all of it's 4 colors... I remember spending hours typing in those programs you used to get in the computer mags just to see a ball bounce around the screen!

the zx spectrum had 8 colours plus 8 halfbrights on the later models. as for the zx81 its a great computer. the very first i managed to program on and will always fondly remeber it for that... sure i played on a atari 400 b4 i got my hands on the zx81 but i never programmed it.

yeah my m8 was a crash reader. as well as about a half dozen other mags. like C and VG, input magazine and your mags all helped me develop my skills. all cost between 99p and 1.99 and were packed full of info. not like todays which are basically just adverts. what happend to people learning a language in 10 easy steps. some mags ran full series of teaching the basics to full print outs line by line of games. you just dont get that quality today...
