Becuase x58 platform does not benifit from ram faster than 1600mhz really as its fast enough already becuase of its tripple channel configuration , so by lowering the speed i can tweak the timmings lower to get just as good performance as i would at the faster speed

X58 is still a brilliant platform and as good as anything out there , probably the best platform intel have ever made i would say . 5 years on its still a beast and was made to be seriously pushed with heavey workloads .
