Tried installing something yesterday and got this error??? The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact support personell for assistance . How do I fix this??? If I check under services,Windows installer is not even listed there???? |

You might need Microsoft NET Framework.

I don't think NET Framework comes with a Service Pack. The first version of it I had came with a game I bought. After being installed it will then be included in Windows Update.

Stick in your Windows CD and select repair. If you don't have one, it's much too late to create a Repair Disc. That should've been one of the first things you did when that computer came home.
