after u have done editing ur settings.. download mxit or wlirc these a wap based applications as long as the applications are runing u wont b cut off frm wap whether u exit gprs or nt. the trick is to have atleast 1rand credit for unlimited gprs downloads... flow these steps each time and gprs is free including the mxit. remember run the app in the background and log onto gprs...

may i add that gprs is not permanently free. it applys when ever u recharge ur airtime. the remainder of ur airtime can b used2 log onto gprs 4 free as long as u follow the steps... keep the application running in the background and gprs is free

i am currently using gprs and my credit is 2cents the maximum i have downloaded in one day was about 10mb of content 4free.

from what ive heard u can have free gprs on a 6230.. Let me eperiment a bit.. and soon enough u will have the settings and knw how... remember free gprs applies 2 mtn only...

only problem i'm experiencing is that, when i download, it disconnects wlirc.. i presume this will affect the 'free'part of the exercise?

- and - note!! the applications should run permanently to avoid being charged.. opera mini also works for this cheat it's recommended

1-Create a new Websession. 2-Edit it as follows: Name: FREEWAP , Homepage: (leave blank) , IP: 196.011.240.251 , Line-type1: modem , Line-type2: ISDN , Speed: 9600 , APN: myMTN , UserName: (leave blank) , Password: (leave blank). 3-Set as default.

4-Download one (or all) of the following applications: , OPERA-MINI, or any application that uses gprs for data transfers. 5-Run the application and allow connection to gprs. 6-Suspend application (allow to run go background).

7-Go to web browser and select shortcuts, then go to desired site. 8-Ensure that the gprs icon is active before connecting to wap, or you'll be charged.

MTN will only charge you for the data transfers done by the application, which will be minimal -2cents- with Opera-Mini, for the entire time you are browsing and downloading.

Note the following: 1-You have unlimited downloads for mp3s, midis, pictures and videos only. Downloading an application may cause your currently running application to end, disabling the 'free-service' 2-Browsing, and chatting on wap is totally free, as long as the application is running and locked on gprs. 3-You need only 5cents to start 'free-service' 4-Airtime recharge disables 'free-service'

ok.. here are the test results for the freewap.. browser time: 2-hours , multi format downloads: 29MB , total data transfer: (unknown). . . total costs: (running under opera-mini) R0.01 !!
