If you can upgrade its parts then it won't be a console anymore

With the new gen and things like the steam box the lines between console and PC are starting to blur anyway.... Give it a few years and PCs as they are now may not even exist outside an office, and we'll all be gaming on console/PC hybrids

Steam Machines are open platforms. The OS is not locked down so you can do whatever you want with it. The components can be changed to whatever you want. It's still a PC. You don't need to pay anyone licensing fees to release a game for it. Consoles are closed platforms and you can't have a hybrid of closed and open, it's one or the other.

Why wouldnt that be a console anymore? To me, u just seem too closed minded to see into a more dynamic future.

A hardc*re PC gamer wont even use wireless peripherals for fear of introducing input latency, I doubt they would look kindly upon streaming the game from another machine
