The Vaz 2100 series, particularly the 2106 known as the Lada 1500. When Fiat created this as a mere car for 60s Italy they could never have known that the Russians would recycle the design for decades of communist cult machinery. The people's battle wagon proved itself from Ukraine to Siberia, and deserves it's place amongst humanity's legendary machines. |

The original Fiat version had a twin cam 1600 engine, went well! These russian ones actually had a hole in the middle of the front bumper for a crank handle! This because the Siberian weather would reach below -40 so no electric start at those temps... The license plate is covering it on that car. Here's one with the hole exposed - they're a cult car over there, now.. |

None are particular favourites of mine, spent ages in Saxons, sn*tches and Taverns in NI and a different type of Saxon for a bit in Bosnia, all hot and uncomfortable to be inside, was nice to do top cover to get some fresh air or when I was a Saxon commander as i got to get fresh air as well.
