@ ogdenz - 27.04.24 - 09:58am I was being sarcastic. Well a lot of dopes do still believe illegal immigrants get huge amounts in benefits and given a free house. I know they do but I think that's down to people not having an open and honest discussion around immigration. Many immigrants do get free housing so that's obviously going to rub people up the wrong way, especially those who are struggling themselves and feel the pressure on the lack of social housing. |

@ ogdenz - 27.04.24 - 09:59am Many 1000s of legal workers left the UK due to Brexit...if locals could have filled those posts then they would have done. Unemployment figures went down after Brexit, they've been at the lowest for years until our recent rise this last quarter. |

Aren't you a Tory supporter? They've refused to build social housing 'because they create Labour voters'. The lack of social housing is the fault of politicians only, anyone with half a brain can see that. |

The lack of social housing is the fault of politicians only, anyone with half a brain can see that. Did they? Can't remember that in there manifesto. Politicians are partly to blame because if you're willing to have net migration at 200,000+ a year then they need to build somewhere for them to live. But then also who is expected to fund this? And house building takes time even in the private sector, you can't just pull a house out of thin air. |

According to a Deputy PM of theirs they did. They could of funded it with the Right to Buy sales, and if they wasn't going to do it they shouldn't of rolled out that scheme. That's well over 2,000,000 social homes right there.

How much labour and materials would be needed to build 2 million homes? it doesn't just work like that, it's not Sim City |

Plenty of empty homes. 37,000 in Scotland alone last time i read. If i recall correctly the figure for England was 190,000..again that was the last time i read. |

Right wingers go on and moan about immigrants getting houses..if we haven't got the houses then how are we housing them? (some in hotels i know).
