hello i want to jailbreak a friends iphone 3g running on version 3.1.2 (7D11) .. i have searched a bit now and i see that if the phone turns off you need a pc to jailbreak it again. is there any newer solution or this info is still up to date? thanks

Depends on baseband or something but iF it',s a 3G and not 3GS then i would have thought it would be ok as i got my 3GS back in July and have no problem switching my phone on and off.I would have thought it would only effect those that came out the shop with 3.1.2 fw preinstalled but wait for someone else more in the know with that problem to answer.

Hello Stef, yeah if it's a 3G it should be fine. Only the new 3GS's with the new iboot are tethered jailbreaks pal, just run blackrain on it and all should be good mate

The tether jailbreak thing is so simple. Takes no time to reboot with blackra1n.

So this 2 phones doesn't have the same firmware? I just thought because i read that the version that my mate has is the latest one, that it would make problems.thank you very much for the help guys. And @akash noone can be genius in every operating system. I still try to become genius by symbian phones :)

@ witch yes it is simple but if you lose power whilst your out your screwed until you get home, @ stef it has nothing todo with fw. It's the bootrom apple started using. It blocks the exploit, @ akash aren't you a genius in all operating systems? Maybe you should replace stef
