When someone calls you love, darling or similar? Im sure this has been asked before, maybe even by me but i cant find it lol.do you find it sweet or creepy,do you feel like you are being chatted up? Does it depend on who they are? Or who you are? Or even where you are? |

Getting called duck and love by other grown men happens a lot and it's a combination of regional and generational dialect. It's not an issue and I don't feel like I am.being chatted up lol.

Cringey. If someone calls me 'luv' it's invariably a northerner. Whether she's saying it to me, or a guy is saying it to a woman, it strikes a bit of a bum note with me. It doesn't go so far as to bother me, but it's not my way of doing things. I've called everyone 'mate' for like 30yrs. Admittedly i sometimes use 'fella' on a guy if an extra bit of sincerity would be better (i don't seem to warrant a female equivalent). That came from my brother. I'm not sure if it's a good practice. |

@ rosemary42 - 21.05.22 - 02:01pm The pastry guy started calling me Professor, but the ladies call me Lovely David for some reason, I really don't know why. I'm kind of quiet and standoffish, if somewhat helpful. Lol |
