My computer is ninfected by a virus which includes reader_s.exe n sumthing else.. I tried 2 removed the virus manually but instead the virus makes the os log off when u try 2 start up.. I could format it bt its a netbook.. M using winxp sp3..Any1 hv any idea on hw 2 fix dis.. |

this may help! boot xp in safe mode and then disable startup programs using msconfig...

SReader.exe is virut. Its a deadly file virus. Using a av on it will cause you to loose windows coz your system files are deleted so windows wnt boot up. Forget any av its to late they cant help. You need to do a coldboot. Make a bootcd from a clean pc using pe builder or download a image of it from the net. Then add a application called combofix to cd before you burn it. Boot up with it then run combofix. Then install get kav not anything else to disinfect the system files

Or you can search for sreader.exe its in your temp folder hidden. But remember to run sfc /purgecache aswell before doing above. Virut works quick so you will have to move

Use a live cd to backup all ur data b4 attempting 2 fiddle wit ur system files
