get it from android market/google play Stef , its free for everyone, I think they are rolling out the 5gb free on a country by country basis but that may not be the case

Same thing happened with me Hunter32 but I uploaded a 50mb hd vid I share it n the size.reduce plus the vid pixel faded I stream it and its the same its real bad

Ok, to me this seems like a piece of cr*p - my Drive also 'isn't ready' but if you hit the doc icon at the top right of the app, you get a 'create new' dialog, one of which is 'upload'. I uploaded an image and then had a look to see what I could do with it - the sharing options consist of entering a 'collaborator' (someone with a Google Drive account), and the sending options are the same as I'd get from any file manager or gallery app, so for instance I couldn't post a link here to

the file. So yeah, you can store your stuff, but I think there are better file hosting options available, so when they notify me that my Drive is ready I'll tell 'em where they can park it.

my drive wasn't ready yesterday but just received the email saying its ready now.

My drive is also ready now.. If the drive is not ready you still can upload through the app but to the docs...

Blehh @ cloud storage. give me a smartphone with 128GB flash mem with expansion instead, i'll add a 64GB mem card, sorted.

Yeah, anyone with access wanna give me a link to a file you've uploaded? But if you want to let me know your full name and email address you CAN via the wonders of Google Drive - to me it just feels like another salvo in the internecine user data war between Farcebook, Google and.. everyone else who wants to know who you are, and what files you've got..

'It's All Gone Quiet Over There..'

Google drive is just a revamped Google Docs. its docs app that get updated to drive. What is the big deal with these cloud storage if we cant share the files like we please? With data charges shooting up I prefer fixed storage.

Apple have iCloud, Microsoft have Skydrive, Google with Google Drive, Sony launched PlayMemories, Samsung is launching its own cloud storage service, we have box, dropbox and sugarsync. all the free versions have at least 5GB free space. that means we have at least 30GB of free cloud space excluding icloud

I just backed up my apps/games to google drive (excluding sd files of the games) I now have a secondary back up if my pc goes down, I will start to upload my important pics to it and then I have a virtual copy of them (just incase something happens to my pc) there we go, I think this is the way to use cloud storage, I don't know what you lot are moaning about its 5gb free storage, that you can access from your mobile anywhere and at anytime

@jester if you get google+ or dropbox you can automatically upload your pics

got google + stef, I don't want to upload pics to my Google+ profile, I'm only using google drive as a secondary back up for my important stuff, I've not got dropbox but I suppose I could use that to back up some of my favourite music and some vids I have shot on my mobile of my kid

They are private in picasa only pics you want to show are visible for others.
