just seen a thread on xda for getting invites to a trial for the much awaited whatsapp calls feature. it only works with a specific version of the app downloadable from HERE and then messaging the thread author with a specific message which I'm not going to share (or for that matter the thread on xda) at least not until I've secured my own invitation.. if you know how to use google I'm sure you'll be able to find it yourselves. I will report back on my progress and with any info regarding my success or otherwise... |

actually after more reading it seems you need only receive a call from someone with calls activated once you have the correct version...

the link to the apk at the start of this topic has been updated before I posted it... it does not give the needed version anymore, it gives whatsapp v2.11.556 when we need specifically v2.11.552 I found what should be the correct version here HTTP://androidapksfree.com/apk/whatsapp-2-11-552-450328-apk-download/ this version installs OK, but you might want to run it past an A.V. for your own peace of mind |

well technically it is available to all, it's just the method of roll out is a staggered one by design, presumably to stop them getting overwhelmed with millions all trying it out for the first time on the same day. the activation servers are closed for the moment though, so we're all waiting still... |
