was there a patch to stop it updating on it's own ? don't know if they still do that, they probably would. a pushed update will wipeout your root completely on kindles so you had to stop it updating or take it fully custom. |

Yeah I remember this phone, Amazon had built it with all sorts of sensors back in 2014 and it was meant to be their entry into the Smartphone industry but it was a huge failure in the end, got far less sales than even the most conservative estimates at the time. It was a lot like the Essential Phone now.

what did you think of it ? there were probably some custom roms out for it that'd have been worth trying. can't really lose on a cheap phone. |

i did then it updated couple of days before i got rid of it and play store would not load and kept getting play services not compatible for this phone when that updated as well

you can take them completely custom though, there's always going to a lineage OS, AOSP or some such out there. then you'll still get the latest android versions too. |
