don't buy Exynos phones, at that price I'd rather import a Qualcomm version.

The performance gap is a lot closer this time around though due to Samsung ditching their own custom cores. but iam only interested in a comparison between the modems in the SD888 and the Exynos 2100, as in their 5G support capabilities

''Finally, this is the first flagship Exynos with an integrated 5G modem. The 980 and 1080 have integrated modems too, but they are upper midrange parts. The modem can achieve 7.35 Gbps downlink speeds on a mmWave network and 5.1 Gbps on a sub-6 network, matching the Exynos 990.''

I guess that sums it up then its capabilities sound much the same as the X60 modem in the Qualcomm chip. Asus Rog 4 looks good though 6.8 inch screen with SD888

PS: Samsung pay users be aware: none of the S21 series support MST which is magnetic secure transmission. It means Samsung pay only works with NFC and not with the older traditional payment card systems that are still in use. It doesn't bother me because I don't use it and I have no idea how many places still use the older system but this is just to make everyone aware.

This link shows that the S21 Ultra's 5G modem beats the iPhone 12 Pro Max on data speed but that's cos this is the Snapdragon U.S version which has the X60 modem which is superior to the X55 seen in the iPhone. but the question is how does the Exynos modem in our version of the S21 Ultra compare with the X60? https://www-tomsguide-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.tomsguide.com/amp/news/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra-vs-iphone-12-pro-max-which-flagship-phone-wins?amp_js_v=a6amp_gsa=1usqp=mq331AQHKAFQArABIA3D3Daoh=16117835032008csi=1referrer=https3A2F2Fwww.google.comamp_tf=From2025124sampshare=https3A

Of course the iPhone 13, or whatever they decide to call this years iPhone will level the playing field cos it will have the X60 modem, or possibly a newer generation to that.

WTF |

@ 3mel - 27.01.21 - 10:07pm no memory card slot either so you can spend a whole morning copying over any files you normally store. that link BTW... WTF It takes minutes. I copied around 45gb the other week with the otg cable that comes with phones. I was expecting a wait tbf |

if otg still works on your older phone, it doesn't on either of mine.

S3: expandable memory just like the previous incarnations. S6: non expandable people whinge so: S7, S8 and S9 expandable. S10 5G: non expandable. People whinge so: S20 series expandable S21 series: non expandable they hope todays larger default storage will negate the need for expandable memory and Apple have always get away with it after all iam sure Samsung customers will get used to the idea

Mind you, I will admit I have far less need for memory expansion these days because base storage is now so high so maybe they have a point. I could even get away with 64GB to be honest! yet base storage on high end phones is now 128GB rising to a maximum of 512GB. but everyone has different requirements obviously, so it all depends on how you use your device.

Where the S21 Ultra is concerned though, there is so little price difference between the 128GB and 256GB versions in the UK it makes no sense to go for the smallest capacity! so the choice should be 256 or 512, and the latter gives you 16GB of Ram instead of 12GB! even though both are arguably overkill anyway.

The Kurin 9000 in the Huawei Mate 40 pro beats the Apple A13 and isnt far behind the A14 according to Antutu. there may be an issue with Google services on the Huawei but there are easy ways around that. The Mate 40 also enjoys the highest DXO rating too.
