Heard that bb os X devices will use normal APN for browsing. Bbm will still use biz, and be free. Anyone heard about this? |

it's only fair. RIM doesn't owe you anything. If you want internet, buy it

Wonder if the older devices will continue to support browsing through bis? Think they going to lose a lot of customers with this move.

This was coming, with those who abused the whole BIS thing, RIM were left with no choice but to do this, very smart move on their part, sucks for those upgrading from older BBs though. I'm sure those using older BBs will be forced into this at the end of their contracts, when renewing their contracts they will be told that BIS is only for BBM now.

I agree, the only use most people have for blackberry's is for the internet, there's practically no other use for them. Goodbye blackberry.

I read that bb10 will be using a new structure as far as flow of data is concerned but I didn't think that it will be as soon as this. now I'm left wondering how they will push the rest of us in prepaid packages but using old legacy phones into that field as well. I don't do huge files but even my small update download is now in danger. watching data so it dsnt deplete is so not ayoba

I guess its back to rationing data then, they give you a scoop of say 1Gig a month and you use it like food at a residence making provisions. This will only affect SA the most. the rest all have fast uncapped data. ![]() |

RIM, now called Blackberry, won't lose the current customer base, New users wishing to adopt the OS10 are the ones who'll have to decide if its worth it of a device to go for and since the two devices announced look more orientated for business folks people will still buy them. contract phones that give you certain allocation of data every month. BBM is still there and not many want to ditch that esp teens.

@ ungers - 30.01.13 - 12:08pm Its called Blackberry Internet Service......BIS......and as we PAY for this service, I would say Rim do owe us something...... you only pay the equivalent of 6 dollars 50 cents USD. That's practically free so, no, you can't complain. |
