Hello people, I've a Bold 9900 unfortunately it just switched off on itself and now won't turn on. Whenever I remove the battery and put it back in it just shows me a red light flashing. Tried charging it but to no avail. Tried OS upgrading but fails completely on Reconnecting to JVM. Any other methods I can use? Thank you. |

Have you tried using another 9900 battery in there even one of these fake ones just to test, sometimes if ur battery is completely discharged it takes a couple of mins for it to start loading, as long as 30mins. I've spent unnecessary money on new batteries just to find that out.

Thanks so much for that idea Yugan. I will try hard to find anyone who has a 9900 around. I can't waste money om another new battery only to find that its a hardware problem. Lol. Best it to try it with another battery. Thanks for that suggestion.

charge your battery for a couple of hours just leave it on the charger then do battery pull try to use a original charger my 9900 won't even charge in a car charger if the battery is completely drained

also try to reset your BB by plugging your phone in to charger without battery in and holding down call cancel button for 15sec

I have tried all the methods but nothing worked. I tried two other working batteries but it couldn't switch on still. I tried its battery in another 9900 and it worked well.

Count the red light flashes here is a link to what the different codes mean hope you don't have the same problem as the one in the link http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Bold/BOLD-9900-RED-LED-BLINK-10111/td-p/2490093

Thanks for your help Thesayan. Mine doesn't continuously blink like that. It takes some few seconds to come on and then disappears and reappears after a few seconds. Could this be a hardware fault? I am so tired of this..

You are so kind man. I really don't know how to thank you. Wish I could give you so that you can try it out for me. I tried on two different PCs running on Win XP and Windows 7 but to no avail. I just have to throw it away I guess. @thesayan

sounds bricked indeed. However it could also be an LCD issue. Forgot the name of that strip that connects phone mainboard to the screen. I would suggest taking it to repairs and they may mention that is the problem. Have them fix that then try reflashing. A friend had a similar issue with his torch and nothing worked but after the local cellphone repair people messed around with it he was able to reload the software. Try that out.
