That is a sim card error. Try another sim card and check if you get the same error. Google ''KB33487.

Thanks to u, Have tried different sim and it is the same initilization failed I got. The sims are working on other phone. |

Well second last resort is to try n clean the sim slot contacts, an earbud normally does the trick, then last resort is get it checked out by one of the SP's hopefully if its still under warranty it'll cost nothing to repair, if not get a quote first them decide. Had a similar prob with my curve, memory card slot was loose, had a quote from voda, R900 for parts + labour + vat.
