Its not a virus.have u tried takin batt out for 5mins?failing that u can update firmware at se website if u got pc.

Yeah left battery out for a couple of hours whilst at work but still didnt help, i've done a search using search feature n keep readin bout erom updates? Im rubbish with technical stuff but will get a mate to check on his pc as u advised

My 1st k800i did something similar. Jus didnt turn bk on at all. Now i got a k850i thats faulty after a week and has to be changed. Fantastic!

Sounds like the NONE crucial variables of the EROM are corrupt, althogh when you say it switches off after 10 mins, thats new, its happend a few times to me both with w800 and 2 seperate k800i also my sisters w550, BUT none of those switched off after 10 minutes so this may not work,

when i say none crucial variables i mean none of the code that the phone needs to bootup, the phone can fix these pieces of code in the EROM itself by performing its own litts sys check, kinda like the old windows did when you cut the power without shutting down the computer properly, but the phone isint as quick as a PC and takes longer something like an hour depending how much needs fixed,

tahe out the battery then put it back in,

DONT switch the phone on yet, now plug in the carger and wait around a minute to ensure its charging the switch it on and leave it for an hour maybe an hour and a half while the phone does its thing, but yours is switching off affter 10 minutes so you may need to have it fully flashed INCLUDING a fresh EROM/EEPROM with the software, any phone shop that unlocks phones can do that for around 15 uk

PS... XS++ and SETool2 Lite WONT do the jod as SETool2 Full does other thing like rebuilding CXC values with a full reinstall with XS and SETL dont, but try the charger method first as thats quite commen.

it also happened to another member on the board which fixed it this way.

Mine has done the exact same thing twice now, once stayed off for an hour, once about 6 hours. I just kept turning it on every half an hour and it came back on eventually.

Thanks for ur help guys, ok think things mite have got worse, for starters, pluggin in the charger n leavin for 60-90 mins didnt work as it still switches off, time varies now though, shortest time so far was bout 5 mins with longest bein bout 45 mins. Thing is now it seems not to want to switch on without the charger plugged in, a little see light flashes a few times where the infra red port is

...... Meant red light, when charger is in red light disappears BUT when it switches off with charger it the red light is permanent? Never noticed this light b4 is this a bad sign?

it simply means your batt's too low in power 2 charge.let it be in the mains for a long time.6 hours without turning ur phone on.or better still get a new batt,lets see.if all does not help,flashing is the only option.

I'm on my 3rd k800i this yr, luckily all under warranty. The first two both just died switched off and never switched on again. This one is fine touch wood.

Mine done the same i had 2 hav the software reflashed. I was tld the ppl who flashed the software did it wrong and my fone packed up again i've had mine reflashed 3 times now and its playin up again i've hardly got any volume even though its turned up full

Hey guys.here a posibility 4 phone crashing.conflicting apps,faulty apps can currupt the boot seq,also exiting apps through holding the back b*tton too often.flashing is an answer and the charger method works.

I think a good tip is not to have too many apps and games in your phone, just have the ones you use or play. Don't fill it up, my Se phones are fine til i go on a download bender, then they mess up. Especially with getjar apps, so glad my phone aint symbian or i'd be *ucked

It dont matta how many apps/games are on it... your EROM is deffinatly dead, either update the EROM via wotan and if holding 2+5 fails to pick up the phone then take it to a shop with SETool2 and tell him to use UFS cable.

@g0kuu, all that stuff about apps is a myth, bad apps/games eat the internal memory which causes the phone to reboot, but the k800 has a notoriously sick EROM (which kicks in whe power on which is why its dead)

BALL!!! the EROM can older EROM's sometimes get currupt while switching the phone off/on (hense the apps myth), and the charger method wont work anymore (Flashing Red light from the IR port means dead EROM)
