They also confirmed their going to release 20 per cent less phone's in 09 then in 08, i think its a good move, especially dropping UIQ, I hope they stick with WM, but im starting to doupt that since Nokia, SE and Moto are teaming up on the symbian front.

yep. There are now 50 major companies in the Symbian Foundation including Freescale, Texas Instruments, LG, SAMSUNG, SE, NOKIA, Futjitsu, NTTDoComo etc. . . Its going to be a huge platform that will mix S60, UIQ and MOAP(S) together. UIQ was dead the day SE released the P990. MOTOROLA will continue to make UIQ devices thou, they seem to have the correct Hardware for it unlike SE.

 Operating Systems, not exactly sure what UIQ stands for, but its a symbian based OS, WM is short for Windows Mobile.

Yep WM is weak. Symbian Foundation's upcoming platform is going to be Open Source. Symbian is certainly still the best Mobile OS.

UIQ stands for User Interface Quartz. It is not actually an OS but a user interface that runs on top of Symbian OS. Same holds for S60. By the way, I like UIQ on my P1i. It runs pretty good and I prefer it over S60. Dunno why the f they r dropping UIQ when G900 and G700 are selling pretty good.
