So if you want a Symbian2 Smartphone whether it be SE, Nokia,LG OR Samsung,you will have to wait until next year. Personaly thou i think Satio is an excellent phone,on paper until i get to use it,its the most exciting S60 phone released this year and the above shouldnt stop you frm geting it unless you want Symbian2. S60v5 already has loads of apps on the way and all wil work on Satio.

First it sounds like SE is a bad phone the way you are saying it then at the end it sounds different-- only you polo put words in that order-- some people only read a few words and if they read what you just said SE will look bad-- so start off possitive next time man--cheer up

Sorry to disappoint but im not any side, im open minded, the phone i realy want is a Palm Pre, but who knws if thats even cming to SA. Being on any 'side' would totaly limit me. In the end both SE and NOKIA and otherz couldnt careless what side im on they just want to make a profit,being on 'sides' is just a realy childish thng to do.

lol, anyway the main reason for this topic was to enlighten the potential future Satio ownerz who would be interestd in a powerful S60v5 that could be updated to Symbian2. People such as crail and me in other words,who would be interestd in taking advantage of both the hw and symbian OS. This is just to simply point out that even thou Satio has the hardware it and other S60v5 smartphones are not

going to get Symbian2, so if youre looking at getting a future safe Symbian wait until next year. Sorry to have confused you tdh, S60 has already proved too much for you to handle in a lil 6110nav so i wouldnt expect you to understand all this cortex same goes for you bud. i had the 6110 nav for three weeks and one speaker just stop working so i took it in and whala it blew??? i had a w550i which i gave to my friend which he still uses everyday and its still rockin even though it plays music trough it speakers everyday for hours

Kopping. It depends, Symbian S60v5 was meant to be a sort of quick challegener to the iPhone OSX OS until Symbian2 came wich is the true new Symbian OS that will be Open Source. When Symbian2 was announced it was said that current Symbian S60v5 models such as N97, Satio, OmniaHD etc...would support it bt whether it was going to be back ported to them wasnt clear.

and so some were buying or considering the Satio since it has the perfect hw for a Symbian2 device, bt it was NOW revealed that Symbian2 wont be supplied to S60v5 phones, but that NOKIA will give certain Symbian2 features to their S60v5 phones throu firmware updates,the N97s upcoming V2.0 FW has alot of Symbian2 features apparently,bt its unclear if SE will supply the Satio with similar updates.

Going by SEs track record with the P990- P1 ,and X1- X2, SE mite not supply such updates bt release normal updates jus to clear up bugs here and there. SE never did fix the RAM leakage in P990,they simply left it and releasd the P1. Same with X1, SE arent going to update it to WM6.5 instead you wil have to get the X2 even thou they both share the same chipset, so its feared that SE wil do the same

Kopping symbian is a mobile operating system, developed frm the ground up for mobile7, it stands as the most resource friendly OS around.

Simple example: my n81 wasnt able to play divx an xvid vids bt i simply install CorePlayer and i can now watch Divx, Xvid, flv etc. . .movies an vids. It allows native apps to take full advantage of its hardware. Thats why u get Opera Mini and then full Opera for Symbian phones
