I had a hell of a crash other night and when pc restarted some reason bunch of files went missing..no sound, wmp wont even load..and some reason my skyrim.esm dissapeared too, nmm won't work. Tried system restore...no luck..finally got sound back. so ive been playing stronghold 2 in between fixes. I seen stronghold1 HD on gog for 5.99.. loved stronghold series..never played 3 but from what i hear its pretty awful..

the newer strongholds dont seem that good i finished legends but i still like the 1st and crusader the best.

2 ain't bad .1 is still my fav. 2 seems little harder, kept failing mission last night as I'm supposed to stock neighboring countys granary and my own...I cut my rations in half but neighboring county were fn pigs.. couldn't haul food there fast enough

2 and 3 i havent finished else i have. 1st had the best story and it continues in the 3rd. if you like the 1st you will love crusader its all that 1st had with alot of extras and different gameplay types. you can battle upto 8 on one huge map vs pc or players your choice. you can even make seperate teams and send goods to eachother its a epic lan game.

ill try 2 again some time i remember quitting it on my old desktop it ran like s**t on it that was the main reason i have the whole series of 5 games on steam so i can play them whenever i want

I got crusader.. I liked the additions they had...I just got tired of playing in the desert...
. I never finished 2 yet either..its not really like campaign was in 1..economy or war.. use to hate it when building a castle and they kept sending an army over to kill me, i was like wtf i only built an apple orchard and lumbermill! heard 3rd is a buggy mess...

Which one was it where you could catapult dead diseased cows over their castle walls to spread disease? That was funny till they did it to me and I didn't build my healer yet

crusader had the cows. here comes bessseey !!! in crusader i managed to complete everything campaign and both looooong trails. the last was terrible had to fight 7 enemies at the same time starting from 0 and they all had more cold than i. took me 7h to complete it the 3rd try

Since this is steam talk, I gotta say its bugging me tonight!! Since my skyrim.esm is missing, I went in steam and verified integrity of cache for skyrim, it says 1 file has failed to validate, downloading, and says complete, but still nmm says there's no skrim.esm..I click verify integrity of cache in skyrim again and its same exact thing..1 file failed to validate and diwnloads something but still not the main skyrim.esm... am I going to have to do a reinstall of skyrim?. I can play it thru steam, but skse won't load and the load order is COMPLETELY messed..well..now all my mods are in alphabetical order. Where I had all my esm files first, then esp..now all of them are mixed. .

you should have made a backup

better off downloading it again and fresh install.

oops..well won't make that mistake again.. formatted an old 120gb ps3 hdd I had and making 2 backups..and then slowly adding mods and test them .want to see which one was bloating my saves..but think it was warzones civil unrest..

Bah I did clean install and steam still won't give me my one little file..keep validating integrity of cache, says you got one file and downloads it, or at least it says it did..but still don't have it..validate again and steam says I got 1 file need to validate and supposedly downloads it again..but still don't get it. I deleted clientregistry.blob that didn't do nothing, so now I went and and deleted everything in steam folder but backups, steamapps, and steam.exe.. now waiting while steam updates. Apparentlythe file I'm lacking is the one need for nmm and boss, try running boss but game not detected.

got it! Had to learn a little code and turn loadorder.txt to into uft-8 format.. now nmm and boss working again.. back to a CLEAN skyrim.. followin S.t.e.p. this time. what was wierd was boss and nmm both worked for new vegas but lots of errors on skyrim.
Now just got to figure out how to stop nvidia control panel from crashing and I should be good.

just finished the 1st stronghold again what a great game that still is they should use the halfway 2d graphics on the new ones instead of the cr*ppy 3d views.
