So exited to get hitman just to realise steam sucks @+ only got a 2gig cap and steam installer can't even update properly now I have to find a way to play this game if I can get steam fixed somehow and put a crack on my original so it doesn't need to have a crazy update before I can play. Why on earth did this stupid company prevent you from playing a game you bought unless you get it updated with like 6gig patches and then steam stops updating when it reach 70mb each time just 2 start over. I miss the good old days when u got what u paid for. |

You probably should have checked with your ISP to see if they have restrictions on Steam. That is especially the case if you are in a university dormitory. Don't forget to click that help tab in the upper right hand of the Steam menu and check out Steam Support, chances are that your frustration already has a solution. If not, submit a support ticket. They really do reply to your questions in about two weeks or less.

That's because you pretty much have two gigs of emptiness. Think of it as a place holder for what has not yet been downloaded.

He did buy the retail version. Google 'extract hitman absolution sim file' and the first link should be to Steam Underground Community. Read a few pages and you will see how to extract the game files without using Steam. then just use a crack. |

Thanx man I wil give it a go. And I must add I usually look for a steam agreement on the back of the game box but that part had a security sticker on it.

The thing is its a pc and I have like 3mbps but I only have a 2 gig cap. if I had an uncap coice it would have been better but I can only hope there is a steam emulator out there that could solve all my problems

The retail version key can never work when trying to activate the product on Steam. What I s even the point of this topic anyway?

Loads of games, including all retail copies of that game, are Steamworks and require Steam to play. For example, a recent game, COD Ghosts requires Steam. There is no non Steam version.

Skidrow have made a crack to emulate Steam, they use it in Steamworks releases. There have been Steam clients made by hackers/crackers that even allow you to download and play full games for free.

But the problem is that he never downloaded the game, his ISP has a 2 GB cap and blocked the download. All he has is a 2 GB placeholder that is waiting for the files to be downloaded, there is nothing to emulate but the frustration on the PWs face.
