The gpu in the ps4 is about the minimum requirement for witcher 3 except the cpu which is much slower. No wonder it runs bad.

Well its dropping to 20fps in some places . Sony's rule that every game must run at 1080p is just silly when the hardware isn't up to it .

Have seen lately that games are getting a big boost in fps with high cpu clockspeeds etc a jump from 3.5 to 4.5 gives a big hit. The ps4 only has 1.6ghz and thats an amd chip which makes it even weaker per core performance.

At low res yes like 1080p/720p yes . At higher res the cpu makes little diffrence. The ps4/xbone cant even handle 1080p

Without consoles, witcher 3 wouldn't have happened.. Straight from the dev...... Just shows pc gaming is dead

Ps4 is running at mid pc settings. The drop in frame rate during cutscenes is poor optimization as confirmed by the developers and is being looked into.

Its during gameplay mate . Drops down to 20fps sometimes

I have not noticed any issues during gameplay, only during cutscenes where it's been described as the scene freezing momentarily then starts at 20 fps where the ps4 locks it at that for a few seconds before returning to 30 fps. during actual gameplay though I've not seen or heard of any issues..

you must be the only person in the wolrd then . Or you use to playing games at low frame rates .

Why are these pc gamers comparing their swappable gaming sets with something that is fixed shut to a console that have a lifespan of 5 years?

I did read somewhere that the ps4 version is equivalent to high settings, my sub standard budget pc can manage 50 fps on medium and fairly well on high without v sync and it looks okay to me so maybe they just got to optimise it to medium.
I'm going to get a ps4 one day maybe when they have more exclusives like Bloodbourne and Uncharted 4 but to be honest each to their own and whatever people fancy, I still love playing my ps3.

Never going back to 30 fps or less (only when the game has no other choice) it gets on the eyes and ruins the experience.

These consoles weren't powerful when they launched. Designed on an even tighter budget than previous generations thanks to the global recession they were dreamt up in.

I suspect their life will be considerably shorter than the Xbox 360 and PS3 now we're out of the great recession. Probably see replacements after 5 years this time, instead of 7 or 8.

We are far from being out of a recession . Although i did say at the time that they would go cheap and cheerful due to the recession But everyone here rubbished me saying they would be super powerful blah blah blah

It is definitely not equivalent to high settings There are test done were a i3 cpu with a gtx750 performs better

Thank you . Some one agrees ,I said that about gta5 on ps3/360 i just could not play it it hurt my eyes .Some others here are so use to cr*ppy frame rates they fail to understand how good 60fps

Not quite. They said the game wouldn't have been how it is now, The Witcher 3 still would have happened. The first game was PC only and PC gaming has grown a lot since then. Also, consoles wouldn't exist if it wasn't for people buying graphics cards and funding new R and D. You would still be playing pong
