Hi, i have trouble charging my PSP bettery. I recently started using it after a 1 and half year delay. Is the battery officially dead? Must it be replaced? and i can only play it after taking the battery out and pluging it in on external. Thanx! ![]() |

Are the batteries cheap? I remember reading that they have a chip in them that actually boots the PSP.

at o.p., batteries are cheap enough now for slims and phats. newt, only official sony phat batteries had eeprom for service mode enabling. they discontinued them. a good overnight charge is probably required, boot it using ac adapter then insert battery and leave to charge. once its been taking charge for few mins you should be safe to put on standby whilst it charges fully.

Use pandora battery, it backdates your firmware and fixes it at the same time!
