T-Rex was 15 to 20 feet tall. I don't think any humanoids reached 36 feet or anything close.

I imagine a lot of folklore about orcs and such could just be remnants, stories about neanderthals etc or humans/humanlike creatures who went subterranean during an Ice Age perhaps.

There was a find in South Africa not long ago, a series of caverns contained the remains of something human-like. They had evolved to climb around down there, I imagine a type of human - blind and reliant on sound to hunt in the darkness.

Instead of people imagining they should probably research and learn.

Hiding from us, possibly. Creatures pushed to extinction, lurking in the fringes of our perception who then became nothing more than word of mouth stories.
