Test anything constantly touched by many people and you will get similar results. A comparison was done once between an office keyboard and a toilet at Glastonbury. Guess which had the most germs and bacteria on it.

I don't eat mcdonalds but it wouldn't stop me from going to burger king. I always heard about how disgusting take aways places in US is. At my local kfc they don't touch the food with their hands they use tongs.

I'm usually quite cynical when I hear reports such as this, usually they will turn out to be based on the results of some study conducted and/or paid for by an interested party, in a case such as this it might be a company that makes hand sanitizing gel or anti-bacterial/disinfectant surface wipes or something. Also, if you're eating at McDonald's anyway, what difference is a little bit of extra shit going to make? |

Avoid touching supermarket trolley handles by simply putting all the groceries straight into your pockets. Avoid touching the button for the road crossing by simply running across the road and hoping you don't get run over. Protect yourself from the ATM buttons by never using cash. Dodge the parking ticket machine buttons by printing your own tickets at home. Kick doors open. Remember how not using handrails or lifts helps you stay fit, as well as clean. Get the petrol station staff to fill your tank for you, by holding a disabled badge up in the windscreen. More tips to be found at minging-world.com |

I've also heard the one that says the average household dishcloth has something like 100x more germs and bacteria on it then the average toilet seat does. People will happily dry the plates and cutlery that they use to eat with a dishcloth... but nobody would want to eat their dinner off a toilet seat. Information can and often is presented in such a way as to make it sound much worse than it actually is. |
