I have been a S60 user for more than 7 years and then switched to windows mobile and finally now on to the iPhone. One thing I must admit that the browser and multimedia functionality on the iPhone is unbeatable. The other platforms don't even come close. The touch screen is the best according to me. Oh and I forgot to mention that the battery life really sucks until u have access to a USB port every now and then. The camera is pretty good as well even though it's only 3MP. The camera sensor seems pretty good and the compression algorithm is wonderful as well. Time to take a picture is really awesome considering it's an autofocus enabled device. My minds made up and i'm going to upgrade this wk, i shouldn't be able to till april but cpw said if i pay 200 i can have the 16gb 3gs on 18month tariff and they'll give me 100 for my 5800. Just to mention another thing is that the keyboard seem to have a pattern learning mechanism running at the background cause slowly it learns your typing pattern and as u keep using it u will notice that the number of typing mistakes will go does drastically. Once u jail break the phone u can get cracked applications which r paid through AppStore.

Yeah u can't just download directly on to your phone. But u need a pc or a laptop to sync the cracked applications as well. And on top after convertiing the format to m4a through iTunes, it actually sounds better on the phone. Without a pc or laptop buying iPhone is useless anyway. Also I'd like to mention one more thing. With the touch of your fingers and during winter it's gonna be a pain. Lol. Also, after jail breaking u can transfer files or anything in that matter via Bluetooth. The applications on the iPhone is the best considering the UI and the functionalities. I have not managed to find many appliations that I use on any other platforms.

I also have the iPhone though I have not left s60. I use it and the n97. You can get apps from the appalicious store via hackulous.

well there is a problem with the new 3GS, the day apple released their new bootrom I went to the apple store and bought a 3GS with the old one. I will search for u and see if there is actually a jail break available yet for the new bootrom. and get the iphone first, we will talk about the apps after. and dont think that its too much, s60 is way more hassle than jail breaking... :P

@ Dani you'd be the last person i thought would be rocking an iphone lol, how you finding it? I'm glad i got refunded for my n97 after two faulty ones i gave up, now they've released the mini. Its ridiculous i cant keep up, thanks akash. Do you think its still worth getting if i cant jailbreak?

Lol, u may try my formula. i used my frenz ifone for full 2 days and ws quite impressd wid its browser and th whole touch thing, ui etc. Bt at th same time, i realized dat ifone cnt be th primary fone 1. its heavily dependent on itunes. 2 its poor battery life. So wat i did is,went bak to my belovd s60v3 i.e.N86 as my main phone.And for th fun of iphone's safari browser i got me an ipod touch :-)

actually in my honest opinion, its not worth it if u cant jail break. however, let me get home and try to find out if u can jail break the new 3GSs. I am at work, so that wont be until evening...
