Sorry to correct you playfan mate, but spocks beard have been not been influenced directly by dream theater, but rather 70's prog itself. Neal morse played for john cougar mellencamp in the late seventies. And pos are most definitely not a result of dt. Gildenlow has been performing that style of music since his first band when he was 11. He won the sm rock award aged 17 in sweden 15years back.

Pain of salvation are the in my opinion best prog metal band. Unlike dream theater, pos are willing to do what most progressive bands seem unable to do, actually progress musically. I am a long time fan of dt since images and words first came out but lately each album is just like the previous but without as much thought.
