Anyone into any post-rock, purely out of interest?! Bands like Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Sigur Ros etc. |

''Welcome, Ghosts'', ''It's Natural To Be Afraid'', ''Snow And Lights'' are my favorites, among others.. Who needs lyrics and vocals when you got these guys!

I love 'Welcome, Ghosts' too. You should check out This Will Destroy You. They are very similar to EITS and are, too, fantastic.

I like Isis... Their last album was a lot more post-rock influenced but it was fairly underwhelming in my opinion.

I know puciato you love weird useless terms (remember progcore xD), but, seriously... post rock doesnt make sense to me. If Sigur Ros is ''post-rock'' then so is The Unforgettabel Fire by U2 as well. Is rocknroll dead that something is already ''post'' it? Like, in the 80's where the punk fad was really dead, there came post-punk.... post rock??

and what about most of progressive rock which is usually out of the typical rocknroll bonds as well? ![]() |

Outl4w, I accept what you are saying but you're kind of missing the point. The name of the genre is kind of irrelevant... post-rock is a definitive genre; it's broader than most but it still has parameters. It doesn't mean after-rock.

well, then..... post means ''after'' though... so ![]() |

@bfc_eire | 18 September 08 |
Well that's irrelevant in this case. :) It's just a term that stuck, I guess.
