why buy a brand new one when there are like a few billion of them out on the 2nd hand market. their good for what they are, really playable but everyone loveing has one which is why i hate them. some of them do have some screaming tones though no doubt about that

I got myself a highway one strat for like 400, got some 1950s seymour duncan single coils for 80 and wired them up, got some ivory saddles for 15. 1950s strat for under 500, job done.

Heaps of people have 1 cause they were the 1st proper electric guitar ever made

not really, heaps of people only have them because guitarists like Hendrix. Eric Clapton, Iron Maiden, Malmsteen, david Gilmour, pete townshend and Ronnie Wood + many other influentical players played fender or at least fender stratocasters . giving the Fender strat idol status.

so what im trying to say is, the only reason why people have one is because their favorite guitarist plays one. most players want to *Sound* like their fave artists.

that would depend which version of the strat you have otherwise they all just sound the same to me. cuz of the single coils they use. I have never owned a fender nor will i ever, i find them insanely boring. and they dont really seem to have any redeeming features aside from because most artists of the 70s to 80s played one if they already didnt play a gibson

I prefer getting a coil tap on humbers. it might not sound exactly like single coils but it does a good job of it

i feel same way, that fender not the better, my guitar teacher always seems to say if u save up and buy a PRS guitar it gives u sound of les paul ish and shape of fender, but u talking good 2000 plus here for these guitars. i did hear that theres one fender that is very good and that is the big block strat, ill have to find out more on that.

some fenders can cost up to 2000 too. mainly the signiture models which are totally pointless in my opinion.

ive found fenders to be hit and miss. . Played some niceone's and played some shiote ones. .ust to sell em, we ust have to set up about 50 of em b4 they left the shop, that was from 1993 to 1997 tho, things may have changed

what u think of the fender telecaster, i dont really like the shape and it seems to only have one silver coil, i bet that wont sound like much. my bud used to say with these expensive guitars u are paying for the name and its like they do rip u off abit.

i like telecasters, good for country music styles, get a nice clean sound and hammer the fker and they can sound great, i like the telecaster shape, great to use as a chopping board ![]() |
